TEACHING & WORKSHOPS

Alison passes on her love of art at a weekly class at Pegasus Art, Stroud. She aims to develop students observation and creativity and inspire them to try different media and techniques in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Groups are small to allow for plenty of individual attention.

Alison also runs one off workshops and is a popular visiting tutor to Art Groups. All classes and workshops are suitable for beginners and the more experienced.

Expressive florals  - in mixed media 

Thursday 23rd January 2025  One place available    10.15am - 4pm

£80 per person.       Maximum 10 places

Venue:  Three Storeys, Nailsworth

Suitable for beginners and those with experience wishing to develop their process.

 

Taking inspiration from the colour, shapes and essence of flowers, demonstration led exercises will give you ideas and inspiration to develop a loose expressive approach to drawing and painting.  There will be plenty of one to one support.

The emphasis of this relaxed enjoyable day will be on exploring the creative possibilities of mixed media to add variety and interest to your work.

We will use a wide range of water based materials including inks, watercolours, mono printing, collage and more.

A materials list will be supplied along with some materials on the day.

Sketching the landscape 

Friday 24th January FULL    10.15am - 4pm

Venue:  Three Storeys Nailsworth

All abilities from beginners to the more experienced

 

Always wanted to use a sketch book? - it can be a visual diary, somewhere to develop ideas, to hone your drawing skills, to collect reference for paintings and so many more things, but most importantly it is yours to use as you decide.

Demonstration led exercises will show you lots of ways to draw and work in your sketchbooks using a wide variety of media. There will be plenty of one to one support. The emphasis will be on experimenting and to leave fizzing with ideas and confidence to take forward.

There will be sketch book examples for you to browse, and advice on materials.  An inspiring range of subject matter will be supplied to work from.

 

A materials list will be supplied as will some basic materials on the day.

The workshop will be in The Setting gallery of Three Storeys giving us lots of light airy space - it is shut to the public for workshops to give peace and privacy. 

The Plot cafe at Three Storeys serves light meals, homemade cakes and pastries or bring a packed lunch.
